This locum tenens opportunity is for an experienced Cardiac Surgical Nurse Practitioner supporting cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons in both ICU/CVICU and surgical settings. The role involves managing adult and geriatric patients, coordinating care, and handling clinical responsibilities such as rounding, interpreting tests, and prescribing. Candidates should have prior cardiothoracic or critical care experience, as new graduates are not eligible. Dates / Schedule Coverage period: April through July (specific dates TBD)Includes OR call and ICU/CVICU call responsibilitiesCredentialing timeframe: daysTemporary privileges possible in approximately 45 days Job Details / Responsibilities Report directly to Cardiothoracic and Vascular SurgeonsManage 5 20 patients per day (adult and geriatric population)Work within the Epic EMR systemCore duties include:Patient rounding and care coordinationWriting prescriptionsOrdering and interpreting diagnostic testsVein harvestingAdditional (not required but possible):Assisting in surgeryRetrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduitsSurgical NP candidates will be considered Required Skills & Qualifications Board Certification (ANCC or AANP) RequiredACLS certification RequiredCOVID-19 vaccination RequiredExperience:Cardiothoracic surgery experience preferredCritical care experience acceptableNo new graduatesLicensure:Ohio state license preferred (or ability to obtain quickly)NPDB Self-Query Report (dated within 30 days) Required
