Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania. This role focuses on weekend 24-hour call coverage, supporting urgent cardiac surgical cases in a high-acuity, team-oriented hospital setting. Key Responsibilities Provide cardiothoracic surgical support during on-call coverage ️ Assist in managing urgent and emergent cardiac cases from cath lab to OR Participate in pre- and post-operative patient care Manage ICU patients through recovery to dischargeCollaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams ️ ️Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR ️ Schedule Highlights Start Date: May 10, 2026 Ongoing assignment3 weekends per month ️Shift: Friday 5 PM Monday 7 AM24-hour call coverage throughout the weekend Qualifications Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery (or relevant surgical experience)Active Pennsylvania license (or willingness to obtain)Minimum 3 years of experience requiredDEA certification required Preferred Experience Strong background in cardiothoracic or cardiac surgeryExperience managing ICU and post-operative cardiac patientsComfortable handling urgent surgical cases independentlyFamiliarity with EPIC EMR system Assignment Details Locum Tenens opportunity with consistent weekend coverage All hours are billable Surgeon support available after consults when neededExposure to high-acuity cardiac surgical cases Why Consider This Opportunity?
