Centurion is proud to partner with Correctional Healthcare Experts as the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Kansas Department of Corrections.We are currently seeking a PRN Psychiatrist to join our team at Lansing Correctional Facility located in Lansing, Kansas.The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for patients, works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director, and provides clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team in providing mental health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program requiredBoard certified or eligible in PsychiatryCurrent license to practice medicine in Kansas or ability to obtainMust have and maintain an active, non-restricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificateMust be able to pass background investigation, drug screen and obtain agency security clearance where applicableExperience in a correctional health setting or institutional setting preferredAdvantages of working in correctional healthcare:Freedom from complex, restrictive managed care policies and reimbursement hasslesTime to initiate change, track progress and conduct better follow-upAbility to work with a clinically rich and diverse patient populationCenturion Health contracts with state and local governments nationwide to provide comprehensive healthcare services to correctional facilities, state hospitals, and other community settings.
