At Norman Noble, the Toolmaker plays a vital role in manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and precision components that directly support life-saving technologies used in cardiovascular, neurovascular, and orthopedic medical devices. The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Machine precision tooling and components to support implant manufacturing Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and Swiss-type machines Program parts at the machine or offline as required Operate manual lathes and other conventional equipment Manufacture custom fixtures and tooling solutions Work from sketches, prints, or limited engineering data Perform tooling changes and machine adjustments Troubleshoot machining issues and resolve production challenges Inspect parts using precision measurement equipment Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and repeatability Machines, Controls & Software You'll work with equipment such as: Machines: CNC mills, CNC lathes, Swiss turning equipment, manual lathes Multi-Axis: 4-axis and 5-axis machining (preferred) Programming: CNC programming required Inspection Tools: Precision measuring instruments and optical comparator Materials You'll Work With Medical-grade metals (including Nitinol and specialty alloys) Stainless steels and other implant materials What We're Looking For Required: 5+ years of experience machining complex parts CNC programming experience Ability to set up and run CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines Manual lathe experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints Strong knowledge of GD&T Experience using precision measurement equipment Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Advanced math skills Ability to work from minimal instructions or sketches Preferred (Not Required): Prior toolmaker experience 4-axis and 5-axis machining experience Fixture design and manufacturing experience Why Machinists Like Working Here Machinists choose Norman Noble because: Work supports life-saving medical technologies Advanced manufacturing environment Complex, high-precision work (not repetitive production) Opportunity to solve challenging engineering problems Stable company with decades of industry leadership Apply Interested candidates can apply directly through hireCNC.
