Why Patients Need You The Oncology Field Medical Director is responsible for providing therapeutic area/product expertise for malignant hematology across a broad range of medical customer segments and initiatives in a territory covering DE, MD, DC, VA. What You Will Achieve Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers within the territory, coordinating with Pfizer colleagues to achieve medical objectives. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of malignant hematology and Pfizer medicines, providing product information to internal and external stakeholders. Serve as a conduit for medical information and customer insights, sharing requested information with HCPs as allowed and forwarding customer viewpoints to Pfizer. Support the development and execution of Pfizer’s medical content strategy and field tactics. Communicate and collaborate effectively among headquarters medical colleagues, medical information and other field medical teams. Demonstrate expertise in multiple communication channels, including live and virtual presentations, written communication, and telephone/virtual conversations. Optimize patient centricity of medical communications and deliverables, incorporating health literacy and cultural awareness principles. How You Will Achieve It Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the therapeutic area. Identify and pursue medical engagement from priority customer segments. Provide truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited requests from HCPs, in compliance with Pfizer policies. Lead advisory boards under manager oversight. Handle inbound queries from HCPs via the established triage process. Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs, Oncology R&D, and GPD to identify sites for Pfizer‑sponsored trials, including under‑represented populations. Provide medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process. Cultivate therapeutic area expertise and stay current with congress data and literature. Provide asset leadership and communicate study design and data concepts to customers. Demonstrate strong territory leadership and proactive communication with patient advocacy groups. Deliver insights on local patient organization structure and needs. Serve on medical and cross‑functional committees. Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs with professional associations, consistently demonstrating medical professionalism. Mentor onboarding partners, ad board, and study leads. Participate in special projects as needed. Qualifications Must‑Have BA/BSc with 8+ years in health science; OR MBA/MS with 7+ years; OR PharmD, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree with 5+ relevant years. Must reside within the territory (DE, MD, DC, VA). No relocation assistance provided. Demonstrate a breadth of diverse leadership experience and the ability to influence and collaborate with peers. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage significant volume of projects in a remote environment, prioritizing, implementing, and exercising judgment. Experience working within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team to foster strong professional relationships aligned with Pfizer's objectives. Valid U.S. driver’s license and compliance with driver’s standards; any DUI/DWI or impaired driving citation within the past 7 years disqualifies the candidate. Nice‑to‑Have PharmD, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree highly preferred. Malignant hematology experience in multiple myeloma and/or lymphoma strongly preferred. Field‑based medical experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred. Physical/Mental Requirements Operate a Pfizer company car and regularly fly on airplanes (attend HCP/customer meetings, NYHQ or other required meetings) is required. Non‑Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements Flexibility to travel 60‑80% of the time. Reasonable proximity to an airline ‘hub’ city. Occasional weekend work (e.g., advisory boards, congress meetings). Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary ranges from $169,700 to $282,900, with eligibility for a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and a share‑based long‑term incentive program.
