Overview The Ward Family Heart Center at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City is seeking an Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) pediatric cardiologist. The role involves providing cardiac services to a growing adult congenital patient population while collaborating with our Kansas adult partner institution. The successful candidate will join an established group of 46 cardiologists, 4 cardiovascular surgeons, and over 30 advanced practice nurses. Our heart center serves a population of more than 5 million people in the Kansas City metro. Annually, we perform over 500 cardiac operations, 600 cardiac catheterizations (including 200+ invasive EP procedures), 18,000 outpatient visits, and more than 20,000 echocardiograms. We maintain two state‑of‑the‑art hybrid catheterization labs with the latest 3D imaging and EP technology, and we routinely utilize telehealth to reach families across the region. Key Responsibilities & Opportunities Provide clinical cardiology care for adult congenital heart disease patients. Collaborate closely with Kansas City and regional adult partner hospitals. Participate in the nationally recognized ACHD transition program and passport initiative. Engage in clinical research and teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Contribute to quality improvement and program development within the heart center. Eligibility & Experience Board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology (required). Formal ACHD fellowship and board eligibility for ACHD is preferred. Strong communication and collaborative skills. Eligibility for medical licensure in Missouri and Kansas. Doctorate in Medicine (MD/DO) with a demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and patient care.
