Job Details Location: Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Beaumont, TX 77706 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 2 Year Degree Primary Responsibilities The Director of Nursing will verify the provision of quality care that promotes the highest practicable physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident as determined by resident assessments and individual plans of care. Essential Functions Responsible for interdisciplinary involvement in the development of plans of care to meet each resident's needs Oversee, direct and coordinate nursing staff to provide proper resident care consistent with standard nursing practices Keep current with the changes in all regulations related to resident care Communicate with attending physician and medical director regarding resident care issues as needed Assure provision of appropriate medication, treatments and nursing services according to care plans and physician’s instructions Assure compliance with state/federal regulations and company standards Perform direct care/procedures when needed; such may include procedures for which the staff is not qualified or licensed to perform Develop and verify implementation of POCs Attend QA meetings Review any/all regulatory reports (2567, Quality Monitoring reports, Quality Indicators, etc.) Review resident clinical records Review facility reports (facilities QA reports and Simple CFS reports, etc.) Review consultant reports and provide feedback on any POC Communicate and coordinate with physicians, discharge planners or appropriate facility representatives from health care facilities regarding resident admissions, transfers and discharges as needed Communicate and supervise nursing personnel with respect to professional conduct and counsel employees about job performance as needed Provide training to the pertinent facility staff Use diplomacy but firmness in settling any disputes, complaints, etc. concerning nursing personnel or residents or families in conjunction with the administrator Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred Licensing Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required RUG certification preferred Experience Requirements Experience as a DON in a skilled nursing facility Physical Demands Lifting 1-25 lbs Lifting 25-50 lbs Lifting 50+ lbs Carrying 1-25 lbs Carrying 25-50 lbs Carrying 50+ lbs Pushing/Pulling 1-25 lbs Pushing/Pulling 25-50 lbs Pushing/Pulling 50+ lbs Sliding/Transferring 1-25 lbs Sliding/Transferring 25-50 lbs Sliding/Transferring 50+ lbs Standing Sitting Walking Speaking Driving Balancing/Climbing Stooping/Kneeling Crouching/Crawling Reaching Hearing/Listening Seeing Turning/Twisting/Leaning Equal Employment Opportunity Regency Integrated Health Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
