Work in our garage in Congers, NY and occasionally at locations all over NY/NJ. Duties & Responsibilities Understand and fully utilize service software as required to execute your job. Receive a task and complete job tasks as assigned by the Garage manager. Intelligently plan and install two-way radios and related equipment into different types of vehicles. Diagnose and correct a charge guard/power drain/no power issue. Familiarize yourself with center consoles, radio brackets, filler plates, and related hardware. Assist a sales rep or garage manager in scoping out and quoting a vehicle install. Follow our “Opportunity to Close Out Process” and other required procedures. Program portable and mobile radios using correct software and cables. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair or replace antenna lines, power lines, and antennas. Run RF cabling, power lines, antenna lines, and CAT5/6 cabling as needed. Cut, splice, and terminate wiring with correct endpoints and hardware. Understand AC/DC voltage and power systems. Install power supplies, distribution panels, backup power systems, and batteries. Maintain all company‑issued tools and equipment and ensure serviceability. Apply Ohms Law and RF theory for effective antenna propagation. Collaborate closely with Garage manager to ensure timely completion of work. Assist Garage manager with customer and job information as needed. Support other upfitters and technicians with on‑site installation. Qualifications Ability to work independently and as an active team member. Strong multitasking, time management, and prioritization skills. Excellent organizational skills and initiative. Strong foundation and understanding of technology. Ability to follow a detailed process. Self‑motivated and directed. Understanding of Ohms Law and basic low‑voltage electrical work. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues systematically. Knowledge of RF spectrum and antenna propagation theory. Understanding of basic IP networking and digital systems. Ability to follow a scope of work, rack diagrams, wiring diagrams, and system drawings. Beneficial Addition Technical training and certifications (OSHA, R56, Motorola, Kenwood, Harris, etc.).
