System Director, Infection Prevention & Control About this position Position reports to the VP of Quality, Risk and Performance Management of the CharterCARE Health Partners system, including two hospitals, Roger Williams Medical Center and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital both with Joint Commission accreditation and outpatient facilities. All facilities are in Providence, RI. Responsibilities Includes oversight of infection control team within the Chartercare system. Works with the Medical Directors for the Infection Prevention & Control Department. Develops and oversees implementation of all aspects of the infection control program using CDC, TJC, WHO, APIC, SHEA/IDSA, and OSHA guidelines, and The Rhode Island Health Department rules and regulations. Operational oversight for identification of healthcare-associated infections and works towards reduction and prevention of infections. Prepares and presents monthly data reports for healthcare-associated infections, including analysis and development of action plans to improve, for various committees and senior leadership. Supports directors and managers in complying with regulatory and accrediting standards related to infection control practices. Provides resources and evaluation in achieving infection control goals and meeting all CMS/TJC regulations for Infection Control. Leads team(s) in performance improvement projects related to infection control to reduce healthcare-associated infections and other infection control practices. Develops, evaluates, and coordinates implementation of policies, procedures and services associated with the delivery of infection prevention and control services at CharterCARE facilities. Collaborates with nursing education to provide education related to infection prevention and control efforts. Responsible for the recruitment and selection of infection prevention staff. Supervises, assigns work, evaluates performance, provides guidance/counsel, ensures compliance of policies and procedures and makes recommendations for corrective actions. Acts as a resource and mentor for staff. Education RN, or BS MT(ASCP) Master’s degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH) Licensure CIC (certification in infection control) required, and must be maintained. Experience Minimum of 5 years of hospital experience with 3 years managing a hospital infection prevention and control program. Skills and Abilities Experience using the CDC NHSN database, and knowledge of the NHSN surveillance definitions for healthcare-associated infections. Excellent presentation skills. Knowledge of data presentation (i.e., Excel). Strategic leadership skills. Knowledge of microbiology to support proper management of infectious organisms and surveillance systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
