Leadership Responsibilities Adheres to ANA Nursing Administration professional standards and regulations and AORN guidelines for perioperative practice. Accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients. Selects employees and promotes development through performance evaluation, identification of mutual goals and educational opportunities that enhance and encourage continued professional growth. Utilizes transformational leadership in partnership with employees to develop goals and objectives consistent with organizational mission and philosophy. Maintains positive physician relationships as observed from physician comments, informal observation, and feedback from the Medical Director: communicating activities, programs, issues to physicians; acting as liaison between medical community and department. Maintains Joint Commission accreditation and all applicable licensure/regulatory requirements: ensuring compliance with safety regulations, disaster plans, emergency codes, infection control policies, fire safety, hazardous materials disposal; ensuring compliance with Employee Health and Infection Control program; maintaining knowledge of legal issues; supporting corporate compliance.
